Ibuprofen Ministry of Health of Brazil ha increased federal funding by 2019/2020 intended for the Family Health Teams (FHT) in the Primary Health Care (PHC)The objective of this increase is to promote equity in the distribution of federal resources and strengthen the Family Health Strategy.
This measure is aimed at improving care and resizing the number of people served by each team, increasing the number of beneficiaries from 2,000 to 3,000 people per team.
Since May 2024, the 26 states and the Federal District have experienced an increase in the monthly quota assigned to eSF teams. Monthly transfers to the Family Health Fund (FSE) increased from R$ 1.1 billion in April to R$ 1.3 billion in May, implying an increase of R$ 226 million in resources allocated to ESF financing.
This new approach seeks improve the equitable distribution of federal resources, strengthen primary care, promote good health practices and increase the creation of new FSE throughout Brazil.
The new financing methodology is made up of three components:
Fixed, bonuses and territorial and quality monitoring. The fixed components are divided into different values according to the Equity and Dimensioning Index (IED), and the variable components include bonuses for quality and territorial surveillance, with values that vary according to the classification of each team.
