Diprogenta: ¿para qué sirve y por qué combina corticoide y antibiótico?

Diprogenta combina un corticoide (Betametasona) y un antibiótico (Gentamicina). Descubre para qué inflamaciones de la piel se usa y por qué es crucial usarla correctamente.

Cuando la piel se inflama y además parece “infectada”, enrojecida, caliente, con exudado o costra, buscamos algo que baje la inflamación y, a la vez, controle las bacterias. Diprogenta ofrece esa respuesta rápida 2-en-1 en cuadros seleccionados y por tiempo corto, siempre con receta y supervisión médica.

Los dos ingredientes: ¿para qué sirve cada uno?

Sirven para actuar en dos frentes. La betametasona dipropionato 0,05 % es un corticoide potente que reduce hinchazón, picor y enrojecimiento. La gentamicina 0,1 % es un aminoglucósido activo frente a Staphylococcus y varias Gram negativas; no cubre de forma fiable Streptococcus en monoterapia y no se considera su cobertura tópica estándar (puede usarse en combinación con ?-lactámicos en otros contextos).

Juntas, disminuyen rápido los síntomas y evitan que una dermatitis con sobreinfección superficial empeore. No cubre hongos ni virus (p. ej., herpes), y en esas situaciones puede empeorar el cuadro.

¿En qué casos se receta Diprogenta?

Se receta cuando hay dermatosis inflamatorias sensibles a corticoides con signos de infección bacteriana superficial. Ejemplos frecuentes: eccema que se rascó y se infectó, dermatitis de contacto con exudado y costra o picaduras sobreinfectadas. Se usa en capas finas, normalmente 1–2 veces al día y por periodos cortos (5–7 días), revaluando la respuesta.

No es de elección en infecciones cutáneas primarias (p. ej., impétigo extenso) ni en acné. Si no hay mejoría rápida, el médico suele cambiar a otro tratamiento tras cultivo o valorar alternativas sistémicas.

¿Por qué no debe usarse en la cara o por tiempo prolongado?

Porque el corticoide potente aumenta el riesgo de atrofia cutánea, estrías, telangiectasias y, en la cara, rosácea esteroidea y glaucoma si se aplica cerca de los ojos. El uso prolongado favorece resistencia bacteriana y más recaídas.

Evítese en heridas abiertas, úlceras, zonas oclusivas (axilas, ingles, genitales), niños pequeños y embarazo salvo indicación estricta. La regla de oro: tratamiento breve, zona limitada y diagnóstico claro.

Si la lesión se expande, duele, supura o aparecen vesículas compatibles con virus u hongos, suspenda y consulte. La combinación 2-en-1 de Diprogenta es útil cuando hay inflamación y bacteria superficial a la vez; usada fuera de ese escenario, más riesgos que beneficios. Siempre acuda a su médico de cabecera para que pueda analizar su caso con las individualidades pertinentes.
