The Department of Health and Consumer Affairs Andalusia, in collaboration with the Official College of Nursing of Córdoba, promotes a new edition of the Clinical Simulation Instructor ProgramThis program seeks to train professionals to design, implement and evaluate innovative learning experiences.
What is clinical simulation?
Clinical simulation is a teaching methodology inspired by aviation and the nuclear industry. It allows real healthcare situations to be recreated with high fidelity. In this way, professionals can train in clinical competencies and relational skills.
This approach ensures safer practice in real-world healthcare. It also unifies care across the entire Andalusian public system.
Advanced training with Iavante
The program, developed by Iavante from the Progress and Health Foundation, combines several modalities. It includes online sessions, webinars with experts and practical face-to-face activities.
The contents of the clinical simulation include:
- Conceptual bases of simulation.
- Design and execution of experiences.
- Managing teamwork with CRM.
- Self-assessment of experiences carried out.
Participants also learn to adapt the simulation to the specific needs of each case.
A structured and solid model
Iavante coordinator Paco Pepe Gómez highlights the impact of the programme. “Simulation training guarantees a standardised application at a global level. More than 120 professionals have already been trained, and the number will grow in 2025.”
Iavante seeks to strengthen a homogeneous learning model throughout the public health system. This contributes to improving patient safety and quality of care.
Innovation in clinical training
The program takes place in the Advanced Clinical Simulation Center, located in Granada. It also has a mobile unit with high-tech simulation tools.
The simulation includes actors who play the role of patients. This allows for training in aspects such as communication and emotional management. The aim is to provide comprehensive training that prepares professionals for real practice.
Simulation-based learning is becoming a pillar of healthcare training. This innovative approach not only improves technical skills, but also human abilities. In this way, Andalusia reinforces its commitment to excellence in public health.
